A data network telephony system (99) includes a router (410) connected to a DNT-capable data network (500) and a wireless transceiver (400) and adapted to operate the transceiver (400) by a two-way narrow-band, multiple-channel, real- time duplex radio protocol, and a plurality of portable computer-enhanced communicator units (100, 200, 300 and 600), including microphone and speaker apparatus (105 and 106), each adapted to communicate with the router (410) by the two-way real-time duplex radio protocol and to process DNT calls.
L'invention se rapporte à un système de téléphonie (99) sur réseau de données comportant un routeur (410) relié à un réseau de données (500) pouvant assurer une fonction de téléphonie (DNT) ainsi qu'à un émetteur-récepteur sans fil (400). Ledit routeur est conçu pour faire fonctionner l'émetteur-récepteur (400) selon un protocole radio bidirectionnel, duplex, temps réel, à canaux multiples et à bande étroite. Ledit système comporte également une pluralité d'unités de communication (100, 200, 300 et 600) informatisées et portables, notamment un microphone et un appareil haut-parleur (105 et 106), conçues chacune pour communiquer avec le routeur (410) selon le protocole radio bidirectionnel, duplex, temps réel et pour traiter les appels DNT.
