A noise suppression system for a jet engine, the system having a substrate formed of open cell material, a layer of microporous material covering at least a portion of one surface of the substrate, a layer of substantially non- porous material covering at least one portion of an opposite surface of the substrate, and a pressurized air source for providing pressurized air to the substrate. The substrate, the microporous material, and the non-porous material are configured to define an inner surface (14) of an inlet (12) for the jet engine. The pressurized air is communicated from the substrate, through the microporous material, and into the inlet (12) so as to provide a layer of less turbulent airflow (23) along the inner surface (14) of the inlet (12), thus mitigating noise generation.
L'invention concerne un système antibruit pour moteur à réaction, ce système comportant un substrat fabriqué dans une matière à alvéoles ouvertes, une couche de matière microporeuse recouvrant au moins une partie d'une surface du substrat, une couche de matière sensiblement sans porosités recouvrant au moins une partie de l'autre surface du substrat, et une source d'air pressurisé qui fournit de l'air pressurisé au substrat. Le substrat, la matière microporeuse et la matière sans porosités sont agencées de façon à former une surface intérieure d'un conduit d'arrivée dans le moteur à réaction. L'air pressurisé pénètre par le substrat, traverse la matière microporeuse et s'engouffre dans le conduit d'arrivée de sorte qu'il forme une couche d'écoulement d'air moins turbulent le long de la surface intérieure du conduit d'arrivée, réduisant ainsi la production de bruit.
