Pour remplacer le mélange azéotropique de dichlorodifluorométhane et de 1,1-difluoroéthane (R-500) en réfrigération de transport, l'invention propose d'utiliser un mélange non azéotropique contenant en masse 60 à 80% de 1,1,1,2-tétrafluoroéthane, 4 à 35% de pentafluoroéthane et 5 à 16% de difluorométhane. Les propriétés thermodynamiques de ce mélange sont très proches de celles du mélange R-500.
