The present invention is a method and apparatus for obtaining information transmitted between a source station and a destination station in a non broadcast multiple access network. A connection between the source station and a server for the destination station is established. The server has a cache containing the information. The source station transmits a request packet having parameters relating to the information to the server. The source station receives a reply packet containing the information from the server. The reply packet matches the parameters of the request packet.

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un appareil permettant de disposer des informations transmises entre une station source et une station de destination dans un réseau de non diffusion à accès multiple. On dispose d'une connexion établie entre la station source et un serveur desservant la station cible. Les informations sont contenues dans une antémémoire du serveur. La station source émet, à destination du serveur, un paquet de demande dont les paramètres se rapportent aux informations. La station source reçoit ensuite le paquet réponse contenant les informations en provenance du serveur. Ce paquet réponse vérifie les paramètres du paquet de demande.
