An anode for electrowinning of aluminium from alumina comprises a cobalt- containing metallic outer part that is covered with an integral oxide layer containing predominantly cobalt oxide CoO. The integral oxide layer can be formed by surface oxidation of cobalt from the metallic outer part before use.

La présente invention a trait à une anode pour l'extraction électrolytique d'aluminium à partir d'alumine comportant une partie externe métallique contenant du cobalt qui est revêtue d'une couche d'oxyde intégrale contenant majoritairement de l'oxyde de cobalt CoO. La couche d'oxyde intégrale peut être formée par l'oxydation superficielle de cobalt à partir de la partie externe métallique préalablement à son utilisation.
