ABSTRACT The invention relates to a non-contacting linear drive system wherein the stationary guiding section is designed as a tubular section element. What is essential is the aspect that the rotating conveyor section presets spaced double helices, with the generation of a constant magnetic field in the magnetic circuit constituted by one of the double helices and by the magnetic return path. In that system the permanent magnets are so disposed in the conveyor section/tube that the two helices in close succession present opposite polarities (N-S). With that design a very simple and economic structure and manufacturing process can be realized. The double helix of the conveyor section may be designed so as to comprise permanent magnets introduced into the helices with a radial orientation, or axially extending permanent magnets provided between helices of a soft magnetic material.
