ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A non-dusting, relatively coarse particulate material is prepared from a relatively more finely divided material such as a pigment and an organic binder comprising a solid hexahydric alcohol with little or no affinity for water and a melting point within the range of 60 to 200° C. The finely divided material and binder are blended and cast with the aid of an aqueous carrier medium and then heated to form a solid layer which can be broken up into flake-like particles or chunks. These flakes or chunks are not "agglomerated" or "pellitized" in the usual sense of these terms. The relative fine particles in the flakes are, apparently, bound up in a a solid suspension comprising an adherent film or matrix.
