A non-fluorocarbon oil and grease barrier packaging for storing materials, particularly products that need oil and grease resistant characteristics. The barrier packaging does not contain fluorocarbons, which improves the environmental rating of the oil and grease barrier packaging. The packaging is made by applying an acrylate based overprint varnish (11) to a substrate (115) and then curing the overprint varnish (11) with a curable energy source (117), which regulates a cross-link density of the overprint varnish (11). Application can be flexography, rotogravure, or either rod or blade coated. The overprint varnish (11) possesses oil and grease resistant characteristics, which allows packaging producers to forego use of oil and grease resistant coated substrates in their packaging manufacturing processes.
L'invention concerne un emballage qui présente un matériau barrière non fluorocarboné résistant à l'huile et à la graisse permettant de stocker des matériaux, en particulier des produits nécessitant des caractéristiques de résistance à l'huile et à la graisse. Ledit emballage barrière résistant à l'huile et à la graisse ne contient par de fluorocarbones, ce qui améliore ses propriétés de respect pour l'environnement. Ledit emballage est fait par application d'un vernis surimprimé à base d'acrylate (11) sur un substrat (115), puis par durcissement dudit vernis surimprimé (11) avec une source d'énergie durcissable (117), qui régule une densité de réticulation dudit vernis surimprimé (11). L'application peut être assurée par flexographie, rotogravure, ou couchage à lame ou à barre rotative. Ledit vernis surimprimé (11) possède des caractéristiques de résistance à l'huile et à la graisse, ce qui permet aux fabriquants d'emballage de ne pas utiliser de substrats revêtus de matériau barrière résistant à l'huile et à la graisse dans leurs procédés de fabrication d'emballage.
