A lighting apparatus using at least one light-emitting diode ("LED"), back-reflecting collection optics for LEDs, and an improved heat sink mounting ap-paratus which promotes efficient heat dissipation generat-ed from the LED while minimizing light obstruction and glare. The lighting apparatus contains a main housing; a reflector disposed within the main housing, the reflector having a front side and a rear side; a top rim thermally coupled to one end of the main housing; a heat conducting body positioned to face the front side of the reflector, the heat conducting body comprising a heat pipe thermally coupled to the top rim; at least one light-emitting diode thermally coupled to the heat conducting body, the at least one light-emitting diode being positioned to face directly at the front side of the reflector so that light emitted from the at least one light-emitting diode is directed to the front side of the reflector.
La présente invention concerne un appareil déclairage utilisant au moins une diode électroluminescente (« DEL »), une optique de collecte rétroréfléchissante pour les DEL et un appareil de montage dun dissipateur thermique amélioré qui favorise une dissipation efficace de la chaleur générée par la DEL tout en réduisant lobstruction lumineuse et léblouissement. Lappareil déclairage contient un boîtier principal ; un réflecteur disposé dans le boîtier principal, le réflecteur comportant un côté avant et un côté arrière ; un rebord supérieur couplé thermiquement à une extrémité du boîtier principal ; un corps thermoconducteur positionné pour faire face au côté avant du réflecteur, ledit corps comprenant un caloduc couplé thermiquement au rebord supérieur ; au moins une diode électroluminescente couplée thermiquement audit corps, la ou les diodes étant positionnées pour faire face directement au côté avant du réflecteur de façon que la lumière émise à partir de la ou des diodes électroluminescentes soit dirigée vers le côté avant du réflecteur.
