-16- NON-IMPACT BAR CODE PRINTER Abstract of the Disclosure A bar code is printed in non-impact printing manner by simultaneously electrically discharging a column of needle electrodes to transfer ink from a thermal sensitive ribbon to paper or like record media. The initiation and the duration of the electrical dis- charging is controlled by switching means for a con- trolled period of time to print the bars of the code.
