ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus for agitating a fluid medium com- prising two compartments for the fluid medium, conduits interconnecting the two compartments and means to vary the pressure in one compartment, characterised in that the conduits are of two types, the conduits of the first type together presenting a lower resistance to flow from one compartment to the other than the conduits of the second type together, and the conduits of the second type together presenting a lower resistance to flow from the other compartment to the one compartment than the conduits of the first type together.
