An improved multifocal design for an oc-ular implant is provided. This ocular implant includes an intraocular lens (IOL) and a number of haptics. The IOL passes optical energy. A microstructure within the IOL places the IOL under tension. The microstructure is oper-able to be broken in a controlled manner to release ten-sion in the IOL and reshape the IOL. This may be done at any time post operatively and in conjunction with wave-front aberrometry to provide improved results. The hap-tics mechanically couple to the IOL in order to position and secure the IOL within the eye.
L'invention porte sur un modèle multifocal amélioré d'implant oculaire. L'implant oculaire précité comprend une lentille intraoculaire et un nombre d'éléments haptiques. La lentille intraoculaire laisse passer de l'énergie optique. Une microstructure à l'intérieur de la lentille intraoculaire met cette dernière sous tension. On peut briser la microstructure de manière contrôlée afin de relâcher la tension dans la lentille intraoculaire et la reprofiler, et ceci à n'importe quel moment suivant l'opération et conjointement à une aberrométrie de fronts d'ondes, afin d'obtenir des résultats améliorés. On couple mécaniquement les éléments haptiques à la lentille intraoculaire afin de positionner et fixer la lentille intraoculaire dans l'oeil.
