A projectile launched from a conventional weapon; upon impact with a human target the projectile attaches to the target and stuns and disables the target by applying a pulsed electrical charge. The electric round is defined as non lethal ammunition directed to incapacitate a human, to prevent him from moving for a short time, to prevent him from committing a crime and to allow authorized personnel to arrest the target. A novel thin film technology transformer and thin film technology battery produce an electrical shock capable of stunning a human being in a device the size of a conventional bullet. The transformer and battery are smaller and lighter than conventional transformers and batteries with similar power output.
Un projectile est lancé par une arme classique; sous l'effet du choc sur la cible humaine, le projectile se fixe sur cette dernière, la neutralise et l'inhibe par application d'une charge de courant électrique pulsé. Le champ électrique formé est défini comme étant une arme non mortelle qui vise à neutraliser un être humain et à l'immobiliser pendant un court laps de temps, de manière à l'empêcher de commettre un crime et à permettre son arrestation par le personnel autorisé. Un nouveau transformateur à technologie de couche mince ainsi qu'une batterie à technologie de couche mince permettent de produire un choc électrique capable de neutraliser un être humain au moyen d'un dispositif de la taille d'une balle classique. Le transformateur et la batterie sont plus petits et plus légers que les transformateurs et batteries classiques mais ils offrent cependant une puissance de sortie similaire.
