A plastic oil filter (10) comprises a cup-shaped shell (12) with an open end (14). The shell contains an annular filter media (36). A backplate (40) is positioned in the open end of the shell. An elongated core (38) is positioned in the opening in the filter media. The core is hollow and has a plurality of openings (62) in the walls thereof. Sealing washers (69, 70) are provided at each end of the filter media for preventing undesired flow between the core and the ID of the respective sealing washers.

Filtre (10) à huile en plastique qui comporte une enveloppe (12) cupuliforme dotée d'une extrémité ouverte (14). Ladite enveloppe contient un milieu (36) de filtrage annulaire. Une plaque arrière (40) est placée dans l'extrémité ouverte de l'enveloppe. Une partie centrale allongée (38) est placée dans l'ouverture ménagée dans le milieu de filtrage. La partie centrale est creuse et possède une pluralité d'ouvertures (62) ménagées dans ses parois. Des rondelles (69, 70) d'étanchéité sont placées à chaque extrémité du milieu de filtrage de manière à empêcher un écoulement non désiré entre la partie centrale et le diamètre interne des rondelles d'étanchéité respectives.
