The crash cushion apparatus includes a nose piece assembly (11), one or more impact absorption elements (12), and a transition/attachment assembly (14). The impact absorption elements (12) are composed of a plastic container having a forward end, a rearward end, and two sides. Each side has at least one vertical indentation (20); one side bearing a first number of vertical indentations and the other side bearing at least one more vertical indentation than the first side. When a plurality of impact absorption elements are assembled, the elements should be arranged so that adjacent elements alternate the number of vertical indentations (20) on their respective sides.
Le dispositif d'absorption d'impacts selon l'invention comprend un ensemble élément de tête (11), un ou plusieurs éléments d'absorption (12), et un ensemble intermédiaire de fixation (14). Les éléments d'absorption des chocs (12) sont constitués par une enveloppe en plastique comportant une extrémité avant, une extrémité arrière et deux côtés. Chaque côté comporte au moins un renfoncement vertical, l'un des côtés présentant un premier nombre de renfoncements verticaux et le second côté au moins un renfoncement vertical de plus que le premier. En cas d'assemblage de plusieurs éléments d'absorption de chocs, la disposition doit être telle que pour des éléments adjacents, les nombres de renfoncements verticaux (20) sur leurs côtés respectifs doivent être alternés.
