A non-reusable syringe is provided which has a syringe body having a hypodermic needle bonded thereon at the fore, a piston with a pull member thereon which is received by the syringe body, and a push member which is received though the aft of the syringe body in a fashion that accommodates the pull member. Retracting the pull member aft, liquid is withdrawn through the needle into the syringe. By advancing the push member fore, or retracting the pull member as permitted, the piston and the push member temporarily engage to form a plunger. Means are provided for capturing the push member in an incremental and unidirectional fashion in the cavity of the syringe body concurrent with the advancement of the push member from the aft to the fore of the syringe body, effectively securing the push member and preventing the piston from being retracted again. -1-
