ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Non-sacrificial anode for use in a hot water heater has a single elongated electrically conductive wire extending within the interior of the water heater tank. Anode distribution points made of platinum coated tantalum are attached to the conductive wire at preselected locations. A catalyst of the type which permits hydrogen gas and oxygen gas at standard temperatures and pressures to form water molecules is suspended from the tank's interior.
