The present invention is broadly directed to non-thermal plasma-based systems for reducing the amount of particu-late matter in a gas stream, as well as to methods for using such systems. The present invention is particularly directed to such non-thermal plasma-based particulate matter reduction systems with self- cleaning surfaces. Particularly contemplated are self--cleaning surfaces that reduce particulate matter buildup such as is likely to cause the reduction of non-thermal plasma production in the system, and therefore the ability of such systems to reduce the amount of particulate matter in the gas stream.
L'invention concerne de manière large des systèmes à base de plasma non thermique pour réduire la quantité de matière particulaire dans un flux de gaz, ainsi que des procédés pour utiliser de tels systèmes. L'invention concerne en particulier de tels systèmes de réduction de matière particulaire à base de plasma non thermique ayant des surfaces autonettoyantes. On envisage en particulier des surfaces autonettoyantes qui réduisent une accumulation de matière particulaire telle qu'elle est susceptible de provoquer la réduction de la production de plasma non thermique dans le système, et par conséquent de la capacité de tels systèmes à réduire la quantité de matière particulaire dans le flux de gaz.
