A new non-woven depth filter element (126) is formed in a continuous process whereby a mass of very fine diameter polymer filaments (132) overlaid by mass of larger diameter polymer filaments (136) are continuously accumulated on a spinning mandrel (110) and advanced along and off of the mandrel (110) by a press roller (124). An inner cylindrical surface (134) of the cumulative filament mass forming the depth filter element is calendared, which facilitates insertion of a core member.
La présente invention concerne un nouvel élément de filtre (126) de profondeur nontissé réalisé selon un procédé dans lequel une masse de filaments polymères d'un diamètre très fin (132) recouverte d'une masse de filaments polymères de grand diamètre (136) sont accumulées de manière continue sur un mandrin de filature (110) et déplacées le long et hors du mandrin (110) par un rouleau de compression (124). Une surface intérieure de forme cylindrique (134) de la masse accumulée de filaments constituant un élément de filtre de profondeur est calandrée, facilitant ainsi l'insertion d'un organe formant noyau.
