The invention relates generally to pyrimidines and triazines ultraviolet light abosrbers containing a phenolic aromatic groups(s) and a non-phenolic aromatic groups(s) and the use thereof to protect agains degradation by environmental forces, inclusive of ultraviolet light, actinic radiation, oxiddation, moisture, atmospheric pollutants, and combinations thereof. The new class ofpyrimidines and triazines includes two (one) non-phenlic aromatic groups with hydrocarbyl groups that are ortho to each other and one (two) resorcinol or substituted resorcinol group attached to a triazine or pyrimidine ring. The pyrimidines and triazines may be included in a polymeric structure. A method for stabiling a material by incorporating the novel pyrimidines and triazines is also disclosed.
L'invention concerne de façon générale des absorbeurs pyrimidines et triazines de lumière ultra-violette contenant un groupe aromatique phénolique et un groupe aromatique non phénolique, ainsi que leur utilisation dans la protection contre la dégradation par des forces environnementales, parmi lesquelles la lumière ultra-violette, la radiation actinique, l'oxydation, l'humidité, les polluants atmosphériques et des combinaisons de ces derniers. La nouvelle classe de pyrimidines et de triazines comprend deux (un) groupes aromatiques phénoliques dotés de groupes hydrocarbyle qui sont ortho les uns par rapport aux autres et un (deux) résorcinol ou un groupe résorcinol substitué fixé à un noyau triazine ou pyrimidine. Les pyrimidines et les triazines peuvent être compris dans une structure polymère. L'invention concerne également un procédé de stabilisation d'une matière par l'incorporation des nouvelles pyrimidines et triazines.
