A nonaqueous electrolyte battery using titanium oxide or lithium titanate as a negative electrode material of a negative electrode, wherein a polymer electrolyte is provided between the negative electrode and a positive electrode. By thus using titanium oxide or lithium titanate as the negative electrode material of the negative electrode and providing the polymer electrolyte between the negative electrode and the positive electrode, the polymer electrolyte is less likely reduced and decomposed by a catalytic action of titanium oxide or lithium titanate, and lowering of charge and discharge efficiency as in the case where a nonaqueous electrolyte solution is used is restrained. Thus, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery having high charge and discharge efficiency is provided.

Dans cette batterie à électrolyte non aqueux, on utilise de l'oxyde de titane ou un titanate de lithium en tant que matériau destiné à une électrode négative, un électrolyte polymère étant placé entre cette électrode négative et une électrode positive. Grâce à l'utilisation de l'oxyde de titane ou du titanate de lithium en tant que matériau d'électrode négative et au placement d'un électrolyte polymère entre l'électrode négative et l'électrode positive, l'électrolyte polymère est moins susceptible d'être réduit et décomposé par l'action catalytique de l'oxyde de titane ou du titanate de lithium. On limite ainsi l'abaissement de l'efficacité de charge et de décharge, notamment en cas d'utilisation d'une solution électrolytique non aqueuse. De la sorte, on obtient une batterie à électrolyte non aqueux possédant une grande efficacité de charge et de décharge.
