A nonlinear optical loop (16) mirror (10) is combined with a pulse compressor. The nonlinear loop mirror receives both control pulses and data pulses and further transmits selected data pulses in accordance with relative amounts of overlap between individual control and data pulses. The compressor compresses at least one of the control and data pulses for improving the transmission efficiency of the selected data pulses and reducing crosstalk with the remaining data pulses.

La présente invention concerne une boucle-miroir (10) optique non-linéaire (16) se combinant à un compresseur d'impulsions. Cette boucle-miroir non-linéaire, qui reçoit d'une part des impulsions de commande et d'autre part des impulsions de données, retransmet des impulsions de données en respectant des rapports de chevauchement entre les différentes impulsions de commandes et de données. Le compresseur comprime au moins, soit les impulsions de données, soit les impulsions de commandes, et ce, de façon à augmenter l'efficacité de la transmission des impulsions de données sélectionnées et de réduire la diaphonie avec les impulsions de données restantes.
