Each conductor of the antenna is fed with a successively delayed phase representation of the input signal to optimize transmission characteristics. Each of the conductors is separated into a number Z of discrete conductor portions by Z-1 capacitive discontinuities. The addition of the capacitive discontinuities results in the formation of an antenna array. The end result of the antenna array is a quadrifilar helical antenna which is nonsquinting (radiates in a given direction independently of frequency).

Chaque conducteur de l'antenne est excité avec une représentation successivement retardée en phase du signal d'entrée pour optimiser les caractéristiques de transmission. Chacun des conducteurs est séparé en un nombre Z de parties séparées de conducteur par Z-1 discontinuités capacitives. L'introduction de discontinuités capacitives aboutit à la formation d'une antenne réseau. Le résultat final obtenu de ladite antenne réseau est une antenne hélicoïdale quadrifilaire excitée à une extrémité, sans strabisme (elle émet dans une direction donnée indépendamment de la fréquence).
