A non-woven fibre web comprising a plurality of fibres in the x- and y- direction of average length greater than 5mm and a plurality of fibres of average length less than 3mm wherein at least a proportion of the fibres of average length less than 3mm are orientated in the z-direction, and wherein the proportion of fibres of average length less than 3mm is at least 20% of the total weight of fibres, and wherein the density of the non-woven fibres web is from 0.1g/cm3 to 0.35g/cm3 is disclosed. Also disclosed is a gas diffusion substrate, a gas diffusion electrode and a membrane electrode assembly comprising said non-woven fibre web.

La présente invention porte sur un voile de fibres nontissées comprenant une pluralité de fibres orientées dans les directions x et y dont la longueur moyenne est supérieure à 5 mm et une pluralité de fibres d'une longueur moyenne inférieure à 3 mm. Dans ce voile, au moins une partie des fibres d'une longueur moyenne inférieure à 3 mm est orientée dans la direction z, la proportion des fibres d'une longueur moyenne inférieure à 3 mm représente au moins 20 % du poids total des fibres, et la densité du voile de fibres nontissées se situe entre 0,1 g/cm?3¿ et 0,35 g/cm?3¿. On décrit également un substrat à diffusion gazeuse, une électrode à diffusion gazeuse et un ensemble électrode à membrane comprenant ledit voile de fibres nontissées.
