Abstract An electrically heatable windshield includes an electroconductive coating on a major surface of a glass ply, interconnecting a pair of opposed bus bars. The bus bars extend to a notch area located along the periphery of the windshield to provide electrical access to a power source for the windshield. After electrical leads are connected to the bus bars, the notch area is filled with a flexible epoxy material to prevent moisture from diffusing into the notch area and electrically shorting the windshield.
