PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne de nouveaux 2,2-diméthyl stéroides de formule I : Image (I) dans laquelle R1 représents un atome d'hydrogène, un groupement hydroxyle ou un radical acyloxy -OCOR2, R2 représentant un radi- cal hydrocarboné renfermant de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone ou un atome d'hydrogène, Z représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un radical -SCOR3 de confuguration .alpha., R3 représentant un radical alcoyle renfermant de 1 à 4 atomes de carbone et dans laquelle le trait pointillé dans le cycle B représente une double liaison éventuelle en 6 (7). L'invention concerne également un procédé de préparation de ces 2,2-diméthyl stéroides. Les composés obtenus sont des antagonistes de l'aldostérone.
