A novel adaptor protein and its gene are provided. The novel adaptor protein has a property of binding to mammalian Toll-like receptor 3, which controls type I interferon production that is effective for prevention/ treatment of viral infectious disease such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and the like, treatment of tumors, and the other purposes. Novel adaptor protein TICAM-1, which has an amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 2 or NO: 4, has the property of specifically binding to the mammalian Toll-like receptor 3 and a property of inducing type I interferon production. A mutant of the adaptor protein TICAM-1 has similar properties, provided that it has TIR domain (an amino acid sequence ranging from 394-position to 532-position in the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 2 or an amino acid sequence ranging 396-position to 534-position in the amino acid sequence set forth in SEQ ID NO: 4. The gene is a gene encoding the adaptor protein TICAM-1.
L'invention concerne une protéine adaptatrice agissant efficacement dans la prévention et le traitement de maladies virales telles que l'hépatite B et l'hépatite C, de tumeurs, etc., cette protéine commandant la production d'interféron de type I et se liant à un récepteur 3 de type Toll de mammifère, ainsi que le gène de cette protéine. La présente invention porte également sur une protéine adaptatrice TICAM-1 comportant une séquence d'acide aminé représentée par SEQ ID NO :2 ou 4, se liant spécifiquement à un récepteur 3 de type Toll de mammifère et provoquant la production d'interféron de type I. Ladite invention concerne aussi un mutant de la protéine adaptatrice TICAM-1 susmentionnée, ce mutant ayant les mêmes propriétés tant qu'il est pourvu d'un domaine TIR (des séquences d'acide aminé allant de la position 394 à la position 532 dans la séquence d'acide aminé représentée par SEQ ID NO :2 ou bien des séquences d'acide aminé allant de la position 396 à la position 534 dans la séquence d'acide aminé représentée par SEQ ID NO :4). Enfin, l'invention porte sur un gène codant la protéine adaptatrice TICAM-1 susmentionnée.
