L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés anthrapyridones représentés par la formule (1) ou leurs sels, chacun présentant une tonalité et une clarté se prêtant à l'impression par jet d'encre et dont la résistance à la lumière et à l'eau est excellente. L'invention concerne également une composition d'encre magenta à base d'eau renfermant tous les composés, leurs sels et un procédé d'impression par jet d'encre utilisant ces derniers et de nouveaux intermédiaires.
