Disclosed are methods of regulating interleukin-6 (IL-6) and/or vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and methods of treating and/or preventing cardiovascular and inflammatory diseases and related disease states, such as, for example, atherosclerosis, asthma, arthritis, cancer, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and inflammatory bowel diseases, and autoimmune disease(s) by administering a naturally occurring or synthetic quinazolone derivative. The invention provides novel synthetic quinazolone compounds, as well as pharmaceutical compositions comprising those compounds.

L'invention porte sur des procédés de régulation de l'interleukine-6 (IL-6) et/ou de la molécule d'adhésion aux cellules vasculaires 1 (VCAM-1) et sur des procédés de traitement et/ou de prévention de maladies cardiovasculaires et inflammatoires et d'états de maladie apparentée, tels que par exemple l'athérosclérose, l'asthme, l'arthrite, le cancer, la sclérose en plaques, le psoriasis et des maladies intestinales inflammatoires et des maladies auto-immunes par l'administration d'un dérivé de quinazolone d'origine naturelle ou synthétique. L'invention porte sur de nouveaux composés quinazolone synthétiques ainsi que sur des compositions pharmaceutiques comprenant ces composés.
