The present invention provides novel carbamate-based cationic lipids of general structure (I) or a salt, or solvate, or enantiomers thereof wherein: (a) R1 is a lipophilic moiety; (b) R2 is a positively charged moiety; (c) n is an integer from 1 to 8; (d) X- is an anion or polyanion; and (e) m is an integer from 0 to a number equivalent to the positive charge(s) present on the lipid. The present invention further provides compositions of these lipids with polyanionic macromolecules, methods for interfering with protein expression in a cell utilizing these compositions and a kit for preparing the same.

Cette invention concerne de nouveaux lipides cationiques à base de carbamate qui possèdent la structure générale (I), ou encore un sel, un solvate ou des énantiomères de ceux-ci; dans cette structure, (a) R¿1? est un fragment lipophile; (b) R¿2? est un fragment à charge positive; (c) n est un nombre entier de 1 à 8; (d) X?-¿ est un anion ou un polyanion; et (e) m est un nombre entier situé entre 0 et un nombre équivalent à la charge ou aux charges positives présentes sur le lipide. La présente invention concerne également des compositions de ces lipides avec des macromolécules polyanioniques, des procédés d'interférence dans l'expression des protéines dans une cellule à l'aide de ces compositions, ainsi qu'un nécessaire de préparation de ces compositions.
