The present invention relates to novel tamoxifen analogs, in particular novel carborane analogs of the antiestrogen, tamoxifen. The use of the compounds of the invention as antestrogens, in particular for the treatment and/or prevention of breast cancer and osteoporosis, is claimed. The invention also covers methods for using the compounds of the invention in boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT), boron neutron capture synovectomy and in 11B magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of tumours.
