Conjugates are prepared from RGD containing peptides, by combining said peptides or analog with a material providing a functionally reactive group capable of reacting with a blood component (preferably a mobile blood cell or endogenous protein). The conjugates may be administered to patients to provide antiplatelet or antiadhesion properties through the inhibition of the binding of fibrinogen to the GPIIb/IIIa receptor, and may also be used as probes for receptor activity. The administration to the patient may be made either in vivo or ex vivo and may be performed by either introducing the RDG containing peptide including the reactive functional group into the patient's vascular system or preparing such a conjugate externally and introducing that conjugate to the patient's vascular system.
Selon cette invention, on prépare des conjugués à partir de peptides renfermant RDG en combinant ces peptides ou analogues avec une substance produisant un groupe réactif fonctionnel capable de réagir avec un composant sanguin (de préférence une cellule sanguine mobile ou protéine endogène). Les conjugués peuvent être administrés à des patients de façon à générer des propriétés antiplaquettaires ou antiadhésives par l'inhibition de la liaison du fibrinogène au récepteur GPIIb/IIIa, et ils peuvent être également utilisés comme sondes dans l'activité des récepteurs. L'administration au patient de ces conjugués peut s'effectuer in vivo ou ex vivo, et peut consister à: soit introduire dans le système vasculaire du patient le peptide renfermant RDG et comprenant le groupe fonctionnel réactif, soit préparer ce type de conjugué à l'extérieur et l'introduire ensuite dans le système vasculaire du patient.
