The invention concerns a double-faced thick knitted fabric comprising a front face (1) and a rear face (2), the two faces being mutually linked by an intermediate layer (3). The invention is characterised in that it is produced on a circular knitting machine and the intermediate layer (3) is produced exclusively with binding monofilaments. The inventive knitting fabric exhibits properties of softness and elasticity and its minimum thickness is 3 mm. The invention also concerns methods and machines for making said knitted fabric.

L'invention concerne un tricot épais double face avec une face avant (1) et une face arrière (2), les deux faces étant reliées entre elles par une couche intermédiaire (3), caractérisé en ce qu'il est réalisé sur machine de tricotage circulaire et en ce que la couche intermédiaire (3) est réalisée exclusivement de monofilaments de liaison. Un tricot selon l'invention présente des qualités de souplesse et d'élasticité et son épaisseur minimale est de 3mm. L'invention protège également les procédés et machines pour la réalisation du tricot.
