The invention concerns a novel fuel with high octane index and reduced lead content. Said fuel has a lead content not more than 0.56 gram per liter of fuel, containing at least a first hydrocarbon base (B1) consisting essentially of isoparaffins including 4 or 5 carbon atoms, and a second hydrocarbon base (B2) consisting essentially of isoparaffins including 6 to 9 carbon atoms, and optionally at least a complement (B3) consisting essentially of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons including 6 to 11 carbon atoms, and wherein: the base B2 content in the fuel ranges between 45 vol. % and 85 vol. % and preferably between 50 vol. % and 82 vol. %, and the ratio B1/B2 of amounts in volume % ranges between 0.10 and 0.60 and preferably between 0.15 and 0.45. The invention also concerns a method for preparing said fuel and uses thereof.

L'invention a pour objet un nouveau carburant à indice d'octane élevé et à teneur abaissée en plomb. Il s'agit d'un carburant possédant une teneur en plomb inférieure ou égale à 0,56 gramme par litre de carburant, contenant au moins une première base hydrocarbonée (B 1) constituée essentiellement d'isoparaffines comprenant 4 ou 5 atomes de carbone, ainsi qu'au moins une deuxième base d'hydrocarbures (B2) constituée essentiellement d'isoparaffines comprenant 6 à 9 atomes de carbone, et éventuellement, au moins un complément (B3) constitué essentiellement d'hydrocarbures de type alkylaromatique comprenant 6 à 11 atomes de carbone, et dans lequel - la teneur de la base B2 dans le carburant est. comprise entre 45 % et 85 % en volume et de préférence entre 50 % et 82 % en volume, et en ce que - le rapport des quantités en % volume B1/B2 est compris entre 0,10 et 0,60 et de préférence entre 0,15 et 0,45.
