The present invention is directed to a novel G protein-coupled receptor expressed, inter alia, in the central nervous system and the spleen of rats. The invention encompasses the receptor protein as well as nucleic acids encoding the protein. In addition, the invention is directed to methods and compositions which utilize the receptor. The receptor is referred to as the MP- 10 receptor.
