The present invention relates to transgenic animals, as well as compositions and methods relating to the characterization of gene function. Specifically, the present invention provides transgenic mice comprising disruptions in PRO1105, PRO1279 or PRO1783 genes. Such in vivo studies and characterizations may provide valuable identification and discovery of therapeutics and/or treatments useful in the prevention, amelioration or correction of diseases or dysfunctions associated with gene disruptions such as neurological disorders; cardiovascular, endothelial or angiogenic disorders; eye abnormalities; immunological disorders; oncological disorders; bone metabolic abnormalities or disorders; lipid metabolic disorders; or developmental abnormalities.
L'invention concerne des animaux transgéniques, ainsi que des compositions et méthodes relatives à la caractérisation d'une fonction génique. L'invention concerne en particulier des souris transgéniques présentant des disruptions dans les gènes PRO1105, PRO1279 ou PRO1783. Les études et caractérisations in vivo selon l'invention peuvent permettre d'identifier de façon valable et de découvrir des agents thérapeutiques et/ou des traitements utiles dans la prévention, l'atténuation ou le traitement de maladies ou de dysfonctionnements associés à des disruptions géniques, tels que des troubles neurologiques, des troubles cardiovasculaires, endothéliaux ou angiogéniques, des anomalies oculaires, des troubles immunologiques, des troubles oncologiques, des anomalies ou troubles métaboliques osseux, des troubles métaboliques lipidiques ou des troubles de croissance.
