A complex between a water-soluble polymer containing hydrophobic regions and a glycolipid, immunoassays utilizing the complex as an immune reagent and diagnostic methods to be used in the context of neuropathy and insulin- dependent diabetes. The diagnostic methods employ anti-glycolipid antibody as a marker. The preferred glycolipid is sulphatide.

L'invention concerne un complexe entre un polymère soluble dans l'eau contenant des régions hydrophobes et un glycolipide, des analyses immunologiques utilisant ledit complexe comme réactif immunitaire, et des méthodes diagnostiques pouvant être utilisées dans le contexte de la neuropathie et du diabète insulino-dépendant. Les méthodes diagnostiques utilisent comme marqueur un anticorps anti-glycolipide. Le glycolipide préféré est le sulfatide.
