The present invention provides CTL epitope peptides and polyepitope peptides from 14 distinct antigens of human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) that are restricted through HLA the most commonly prevalent class I alleles in different ethnic populations of the world. These epitopes provide an important platform for CTL epitope-based vaccines against HCMV. The present invention further provides vaccine composiitons comprising the subject epitope and polyepitope peptides and methods for vaccination of humans and for the adoptive transfer of HCMV- specific T cells to human subjects. The present invention further provides reagents and methods for determining the HCMV status or level of HCMV-specific immunity of a subject.
La présente invention concerne des peptides épitopes CTL et des peptides polyépitopes issus de 14 antigènes distincts du cytomégalovirus humain (HCMV) présentant une restriction HLA, à savoir les allèles de classe I les plus courants dans différentes populations ethniques du monde. Ces épitopes fournissent une base importante pour les vaccins à base d'épitopes CTL contre le HCMV. La présente invention concerne également des compositions vaccinales comprenant les peptides épitopes et polyépitopes susmentionnés, ainsi que des méthodes de vaccination d'humains et de transfert adoptif de lymphocytes T spécifiques du HCMV sur des sujets humains. La présente invention se rapporte en outre à des réactifs et à des méthodes permettant de déterminer le statut HCMV ou le niveau d'immunité spécifique du HCMV chez un sujet.
