Novel hydroxyphenyl pyruvate dioxygenase (HPPD) polypeptides, variants and fragments thereof, as as well as polynucleotides encoding the same, capable of conferring commercial levels of conferring HPPD herbicide resistance or tolerance to plants. Compositions include amino acid sequences, and variants and fragments thereof, for HPPD polypeptides, as well as polynucleotides encoding the same. Methods for the production and use of HPPD herbicide resistant plants that express these novel HPPD polypeptides, methods for selectively controlling weeds in a field at a crop locus, and method for the assay, characterization, identification and selection of these novel HPPDs are also provided.
La présente invention concerne de nouveaux polypeptides d'hydroxyphénylpyruvate dioxygénase (HPPD), des variants et fragments de ceux-ci, ainsi que des polynucléotides codant pour ceux-ci, capables de conférer une résistance ou tolérance aux herbicides de HPPD à des plantes à un niveau commercial. Les compositions comprennent des séquences d'acides aminés, et des variants et fragments de celles-ci, pour des polypeptides HPPD, ainsi que des polynucléotides codant pour ceux-ci. La présente invention concerne en outre des procédés pour la production et l'utilisation de plantes résistantes aux herbicides de HPPD qui expriment ces nouveaux polypeptides de HPPD, des procédés pour lutter sélectivement contre des mauvaises herbes dans un champ à un locus de culture, et un procédé pour l'essai, la caractérisation, l'identification et la sélection de ces nouveaux HPPD.
