Novel compounds and pharmaceutical compositions are disclosed which are inhibitors of the enzyme, farnesyl-protein transferase. Also disclosed is a method of inhibiting Ras function and therefore inhibiting the abnormal growth of cells. The method comprises administering the novel aminooxyamide compound to a biological system. In particular, the method inhibits the abnormal growth of cells in a mammal such as a human.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés et compositions pharmaceutiques qui sont des inhibiteurs de l'enzyme farnesyl protéine transférase. Elle concerne également un procédé servant à inhiber la fonction de Ras et, de ce fait, la croissance anormale de cellules. Ce procédé consiste à administrer le nouveau composé d'aminooxyamide à un système biologique. En particulier, ce procédé inhibe la croissance anormale de cellules chez un mammifère, tel que l'homme.
