The present invention provides compounds having antimicrobial activity for preventing and treating diseases caused by microbial infections. Thus, the present invention relates to novel ~ semi-synthetic 11,12-.gamma. lactone macrolides and ketolides having antimicrobial activity, processes for making compounds as well as pharmaceutical compositions containing said compounds as active ingredients and methods of treating microbial infections with the compounds.
L'invention concerne des composés dotés d'une activité anti-microbienne permettant la prévention et le traitement de maladies provoquées par des infections microbiennes. Ainsi, la présente invention concerne de nouveaux 11,12-.gamma.-lactone macrolides et cétolides semi-synthétiques ayant une activité anti-microbienne, des procédés de fabrication de ces composés ainsi que des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant lesdits composés en tant que principes actifs, et des procédés de traitement d'infections microbiennes par lesdits composés.
