The invention concerns a method for preparing a quaternary acid and ammonium salt. Said method which may be represented by the reaction schema (I, II, III, IV) is implemented in a single operation starting with a phenol of formula (I), of an a-halogenated ester of formula (II) and a quaternary ammonium hydroxide of formula (III) such as defined in the claims. Said method enables in particular a high-purity fenofibric and choline acid salt directly usable as active principle in a drug for human use to be prepared.
La présente invention a pour objet un procédé de préparation d'un sel d'acide fibrique et d'ammonium quaternaire. Ce procédé qui peut être représenté par le schéma réactionnel (I, II, III, IV) est mis en oeuvre en une seule opération au départ d'un phénol de formule (I), d'un ester .alpha.-halogéné de formule (II) et d'un hydroxyde d'ammonium quaternaire de formule (III) telles que définies dans les revendications. Ce procédé permet en particulier de préparer de façon économique un sel d'acide fénofïbrique et de choline de haute pureté directement utilisable en tant que principe actif dans un médicament à usage humain.
