The invention relates to a novel method of preparing 3-fluorinated quinolines having formula (I). The invention is characterised in that a compound having general formula (IV) is subjected to Hofmann degradation in order to produce a compound having general formula (III), which is treated in conditions such as to form the diazonium salt having general formula (II), which is in turn heated in an inert organic solvent.
