The invention concerns a novel isolated microorganism characterized in that it is capable of: i) transforming Kjeldahl nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen and/or nitrogen oxides into gas nitrogen; and ii) transforming carbonaceous matter into carbon dioxide; both transformation processes being carried out in aerobic condition. The invention also concerns a method for treating wastewater using said microorganism.

L'invention concerne un nouveau microorganisme isolé caractérisé en ce qu'il est capable de réaliser : i) la transformation de l'azote Kjeldahl, de l'azote ammoniacal et/ou des oxydes d'azote en azote gazeux; et ii) la transformation de la matière carbonée en dioxyde de carbone; les deux transformations se déroulant en aérobiose. L'invention concerne également un procédé de traitement des eaux usées mettant en oeuvre ledit microorganisme.
