Disclosed are novel nitrile compounds of formula (I) further defined herein, which compounds are useful as reversible inhibitors of cysteine proteases such as cathepsin K, S, F, L and B. These compounds are useful for treating diseases and pathological conditions exacerbated by these proteases such as, but not limited to, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, asthma and other autoimmune diseases, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis. Also disclosed are processes for making such novel compounds.
L'invention concerne de nouveaux composés nitriles dont la formule est décrite dans la description de l'invention. Ces composés sont utilisés comme inhibiteurs réversibles de cystéine protéases telles que les cathepsines K, S, L et B. Ces composés sont utilisés pour le traitement de maladies et d'états pathologiques exacerbés par ces protéases, à savoir entre autres l'ostéoporose, l'arthrite rhumatoïde, la sclérose en plaques, l'asthme et d'autres maladies auto-immunes, la maladie d'Alzheimer, l'athérosclérose. L'invention a également trait à des procédés de fabrication de ces nouveaux composés.
