The invention relates to o-aminophenol derivatives of general formula (I) or to their physiologically compatible water-soluble salts. In said formula: X represents oxygen, sulphur or N-R4; R1, R2, R3 can be identical or different and independently of one another represent hydrogen, a halogen atom a cyano group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C4 alkyl-thioether group, a mercapto group, a nitro group, a trifluoromethane group, a -C(O)H- group, a -C(O)CH3- group, a -C(O)CF3- group, a -Si(CH3)3- group, a C1-C4 hydroxy alkyl group or an aminomethyl group; R4 represents hydrogen, a C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C4 hydroxyalkyl group, a phenyl group or an acetyl group. The invention also relates to colorants containing said compounds for use on keratin fibres.

L'invention concerne des dérivés de o-aminophénol correspondant à la formule générale (I), ou bien leurs sels hydrosolubles physiologiquement compatibles. Dans ladite formule (I): X représente oxygène, soufre ou N-R4; R1, R2, R3 peuvent être identiques ou différents et représentent hydrogène, un atome d'halogène, un groupe cyano, un groupe alcoxy C1-C4, un groupe alkyle C1-C6, un groupe alkyle C1-C4-thioéther, un groupe mercapto, un groupe nitro, un groupe trifluorométhane, un groupe -C(O)H, un groupe -C(O)CH3, un groupe -C(O)CF3, un groupe -Si(CH3)3, un groupe hydroxyalkyle C1-C4 ou un groupe aminométhyle; et R4 représente hydrogène, un groupe alkyle C1-C6, un groupe hydroxyalkyle C1-C4, un groupe phényle ou un groupe acétyle. L'invention concerne également des colorants pour fibres de kératine contenant lesdits composés.
