Novel peptides represented by general formula (I), and a nootropic agent comprising one or more of the peptides as the active ingredient, having a high power of penetrating the brain-blood barrier (BBB), and being reduced in side effects, wherein X represents OH or NH2; R represents Arg, His, Lys, Methyl- Arg or Methyl-Tyr; and n represents an integer of 1 to 4, provided when n is 2 to 4, R's may be the same or different from each other.
