It is intended to provide a variety of useful polypeptides. Particularly, a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence identical or substantially identical to the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2, or SEQ ID NO: 3, an amide form thereof or a salt thereof can be used as a preventive/therapeutic agent for low blood pressure, a preventive/therapeutic agent for obesity, hyperphagia or the like, a preventive/therapeutic agent for lethargy, time-zone change syndrome (jet lag) or the like, a preventive/therapeutic agent for infertility and the like. A compound that promotes the activity of a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence identical or substantially identical to the amino acid sequence represented by any of SEQ ID NOS: 7 to 12 and 37 to 42, a partial peptide of the polypeptide or a salt of the polypeptide, or a salt of the compound is useful as a preventive/therapeutic agent for, for example, climacteric disorder or hyperthyroidism. A compound that inhibits the activity of the polypeptide or a salt of the compound is useful, for example, as a preventive/therapeutic agent for infertility or thyroid insufficiency.
La présente invention a pour objet divers polypeptides utiles. En particulier, un polypeptide comprenant une séquence d~acides aminés identique ou sensiblement identique à la séquence représentée par SEQ ID No : 1, SEQ ID No : 2 ou SEQ ID No : 3, l~une de ses formes amide ou l~un de ses sels peuvent être utilisés en tant qu~agent préventif ou thérapeutique de l~hypotension, de l~obésité, de l~hyperphagie ou pathologies similaires, de la léthargie, du syndrome des fuseaux horaires (décalage horaire) ou syndromes similaires, de la stérilité et de pathologies similaires. Un composé favorisant l~activité d~un polypeptide comprenant une séquence d~acides aminés identique ou sensiblement identique à la séquence d~acides aminés représentée par l~une quelconque des séquences SEQ ID No : 7 à 12 et 37 à 42, un peptide partiel dudit polypeptide ou un de ses sels ou un sel du composé sont utiles en tant qu~agent préventif/thérapeutique de pathologies telles que le climatère ou l~hyperthyroïdie. Un composé empêchant l~activité du polypeptide ou un sel dudit composé est utile, par exemple, en tant qu~agent préventif/thérapeutique de la stérilité ou de l~insuffisance thyroïdienne.
