One embodiment of the present invention is a method and compositin comprising a novel pre-dye molecule that is colorless and stable to ordinary light. The pre-dye molecule is capable of forming a color when exposed to certain wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation. A second embodiment of the present invention is a method of converting a conventional leuco dye to a colored composition by exposing the leuco dye admixed with a radiation transorber to certain wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation.

L'invention concerne, dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé et une composition qui contient une nouvelle molécule pré-colorante incolore et stable à la lumière ordinaire. La molécule pré-colorante peut former une couleur lorsqu'elle est exposée à certaines longueurs d'ondes de rayonnement électromagnétique. Dans un deuxième mode de réalisation, l'invention concerne un procédé de conversion d'un colorant leuco-ester classique en une composition colorée par exposition du colorant leuco-ester mélangé à un agent transabsorbant de rayonnement à certaines longueurs d'ondes de rayonnement électromagnétique.
