A novel protein and use thereof. This protein or salts thereof, peptide fragments or amides, esters or salts thereof, and DNAs encoding the same are usable as reagents in acquiring an antibody and an antiserum, constructing an expression system of the above protein, constructing a system for assaying GABA transporter activity and screening candidate compounds for drugs by using the above expression system or designing drugs on the basis of the stereostructure of GABA transporter, or as drugs in constructing transgenic animals, gene preventives/remedies or the like.

On peut utiliser la protéine ou des sels correspondants, des fragments peptidiques ou des amides, des esters ou des sels correspondants, et de l'ADN codant ces éléments, comme réactifs à différentes fins: acquisition d'un anticorps ou d'un antisérum, élaboration d'un système d'expression de la protéine considérée, élaboration d'un système d'essai concernant l'activité d'un transporteur GABA, criblage de composés candidats pour médicaments à partir du système d'expression susmentionné, ou élaboration de médicaments sur la base de la stéréostructure d'un transporteur GABA. On peut aussi utiliser les éléments considérés comme médicaments dans l'élaboration d'animaux transgéniques, ou bien comme éléments géniques préventifs/curatifs ou autres.
